Mulan (1998)

Released in 1998, Mulan became one of many Disney’s Princesses we all love. With some musical and comedy, Mulan is based on the Chinese legend, Hua Mulan or also known as Fa Mulan. In Mandarin, ‘hua’ itself means flower.

The story tells about a woman who was supposed to bring an ‘honor’ to their family with acting like a lady and marry someone decent. But because of this so called “lucky bug/cricket”, Mulan failed to pass as a decent bride.

Not long after, the Chinese emperor ordered for one man from each family to join Chinese army due to the Huns invading China with their mean leader, Shan Yu.

Mulan took steps secretly and joined the army as a man. With the help Mushu, the lucky bug, her horse, and her friends, will she succeeded as an army to defend China from the Huns?

One thing I remember well about this movie is the songs, I mean, who could forget it? Give me one sentence and I will sing along!
